Making Cannabis Tea
When it comes to adding cannabis to your tea, there are a few different methods you can try. Depending on what you like in your tea.
First, I have to say my definition of TRUE cannabis tea, is steeping dry cannabis leaves, stems, or buds in a cup of boiling water.
BUT…this is a non-psychoactive treatment.
True cannabis tea still relieves sore muscles and joints, headaches, and provides many other health benefits.
But this might not be the treatment your looking for. So, now we come to making potent tea. Pick your product…
Yes, I have seen some posts for infusing sugar, have not tried that yet.
Infusing products to add to tea is really the only way to ensure the tea is potent. The best ingredients to infuse are fats because cannabis compounds are fat soluble.
Many of the recipe’s I’ve read include putting butter in your tea.
Now, this may be common for some people, and everybody’s gotta right to their opinions, but “where I come from” adding butter to tea…just sounds gross.
I did try it, but it didn’t have the result I was expecting and if I’m honest, I didn’t care for it with my tea. I’m going to try putting it in my coffee to see if I like it better and let you know how it goes.
Choose an ingredient that sounds good to you. It may not be the “correct” ingredient but the results may surprise you.
I personally like to infuse honey as an additive for my tea.
And if your interested in TRUE cannabis tea, and maybe want to try a DIY tea. Here’s a list of some favorite herbs to combine with cannabis.
- Red Raspberry Leaf
- Nettle Leaf (good with allergies)
- Citrus rinds
I choose 2 or 3 herbs and seep them in a cup of hot water for about 3-5 min. I might add a little honey (infused or not) and maybe a little lemon.
